Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level or senior Commercial Litigation Associate in Los Angeles, California. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in complex commercial litigation, including false advertising and consumer class actions, and will work collaboratively with partners and clients.

Duties

• Work on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Draft complex case evaluations, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Manage complex disputes, including overseeing discovery processes.
• Take and defend depositions, and work with fact witnesses and experts.
• Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
• Attend hearings and assist in litigation proceedings.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of complex commercial litigation experience, including false advertising and consumer class actions.
• Strong writing and case management abilities.
• Experience handling clients and adversaries, with excellent oral advocacy skills.
• Deposition and court experience preferred.
• Previous law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
