Job Title: Senior Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in New York City, NY, is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to support and expand its insurance defense practice. The selected candidate will play a critical leadership role in managing civil litigation matters, mentoring legal staff, and guiding the strategic development of the local office. This is a full-time opportunity offered through a legal recruiting agency on behalf of the firm.

Duties:

• Represent insurers in civil litigation, including bodily injury, property damage, and contractual disputes

• Direct the strategic expansion and operational leadership of the New York City office

• Develop litigation strategies and coordinate closely with senior attorneys across locations

• Draft, review, and file legal documents including motions, pleadings, and memoranda

• Lead case preparation through all phases, including discovery, motion practice, and trial

• Serve as a primary liaison for insurance clients, maintaining consistent communication and trust

• Support the professional development of junior attorneys through training and oversight

• Stay informed of relevant legal updates and integrate developments into practice

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in New York

• Litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense

• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and lead office growth initiatives

• Experience working with insurance carriers and claims professionals

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required)

Skills:

• Advanced legal research and persuasive writing

• Strong courtroom and deposition skills

• Ability to lead, supervise, and mentor legal staff

• Proficient in case strategy, client relations, and managing litigation milestones

• Excellent communication and time management
