Location:

Duties:

• Advise clients on compensation and benefits issues, including tax implications of equity-based compensation plans, executive compensation, and retirement benefits
• Provide in-depth knowledge and practical guidance on IRC Section 409A (deferred compensation) and IRC Section 280G (golden parachutes)
• Work with clients to ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations in relation to employee benefits and compensation
• Expand practice to include corporate and partnership tax matters
• Draft legal memoranda and provide legal opinions on complex tax matters
• Collaborate with other tax professionals and attorneys to address a broad range of tax issues
• Participate in client meetings and provide guidance on business strategy in relation to tax planning
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of experience in tax law, specifically focusing on compensation and benefits
• Strong experience with IRC Section 409A and IRC Section 280G
• Desire to broaden practice to include corporate and partnership tax
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Proven experience in drafting legal documents and providing practical tax advice
• Client-focused mindset and ability to build strong client relationships

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership (state-specific, based on location)

Skills:

• Expertise in compensation and benefits tax law
• In-depth knowledge of IRC Sections 409A and 280G
• Strong corporate tax and partnership tax understanding or interest in expanding into these areas
• Exceptional legal research and drafting skills
