Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a mid-level Intellectual Property Associate to join its Intellectual Property practice group. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation, with a strong technical background in fields such as electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering. Experience with the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) is highly preferred. The role involves working with a team of attorneys and technical professionals to protect and monetize intellectual property for clients across various industries.

Location:

• Washington, D.C.

Duties:

• Manage and handle patent litigation matters.
• Provide counsel on the development, acquisition, management, and monetization of intellectual property.
• Represent clients in PTAB proceedings.
• Collaborate with attorneys, patent agents, and technical professionals.
• Work with clients across multiple sectors, including healthcare, technology, and mechanical innovations.
• Assist in protecting and monetizing intellectual property assets for companies.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of substantive patent litigation experience.
• Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, or relevant experience in related fields.
• PTAB experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage and collaborate on complex patent litigation matters.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in relevant jurisdictions or the ability to gain admission.

Skills:

• Proficiency in patent law, with the ability to handle complex patent litigation cases.
• Excellent legal research and drafting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client management.
• Ability to work within a collaborative team setting.
