A law firm seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney for its Chicago, IL office.

Job Overview:

The General Liability Associate Attorney will provide legal support in file review, legal analysis, drafting various legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Duties:

• Perform file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Conduct extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Maintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions regularly
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
• Prepare for trials and attend as necessary
• It may involve some travel

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in General Liability
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
• Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and work in a team environment
• Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner
