Job Title: Personal Injury Protection Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Detroit, MI, is seeking a litigation attorney with a focus on Personal Injury Protection (PIP), No-Fault, and Negligence matters. This role involves handling a full caseload of defense-oriented litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, legal research, and court appearances. The ideal candidate will bring strong advocacy skills, excellent legal writing ability, and a capacity to manage complex caseloads independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Duties:

• Manage litigation files involving PIP, No-Fault, and Negligence claims

• Draft legal pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and motions

• Conduct legal research and draft supporting memoranda

• Represent clients at court hearings and motion calls

• Take and summarize the depositions of parties and experts

• Engage in settlement discussions and negotiate resolutions

• Analyze medical records, police reports, and insurance documents

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and support staff

• Maintain compliance with legal procedures, firm protocols, and client guidelines

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan
  or

  • Recently completed the Michigan Bar Exam and am awaiting results

• Prior experience with litigation involving No-Fault or personal injury defense preferred

• Familiarity with court rules and procedures applicable to Michigan state courts

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active admission (or pending results) to the State Bar of Michigan

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong persuasive writing and advocacy abilities

• Ability to interpret and convey complex legal information effectively

• High level of discretion with confidential matters

• Capable of managing competing deadlines with minimal supervision
