Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle workers’ compensation cases from start to finish, including managing a caseload independently.
• Conduct general discovery matters, including taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, and responding to written discovery.
• Prepare and file legal motions, briefs, and other necessary documents related to workers’ compensation cases.
• Develop and implement case strategies, including client consultation and advice.
• Perform legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
• Maintain detailed case files and ensure accurate documentation.
• Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, demonstrating an entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience handling workers’ compensation matters in Ohio, preferably on the defense side.
• Strong experience with general discovery matters, including depositions, witness interviews, and written discovery.
• Ability to work independently on an assigned caseload with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent writing and legal research skills.
• Efficient time-management skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
