A reputable law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated associate attorney with 4–7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring law. This role is ideal for candidates who have represented various stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings and corporate reorganizations and have demonstrated strong litigation, drafting, and communication skills. The associate will work with a collaborative national team, particularly engaging in complex restructuring matters in sectors like healthcare, education, and manufacturing.

Duties
Represent stakeholders in bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings including:
Debtors
Secured and unsecured creditors
Trustees
Indenture trustees and bondholder/noteholder groups
Collateral agents, bidders, plan administrators, and disbursing agents
Draft a wide range of legal documents such as:
Motions and pleadings
Complaints and settlement agreements
Forbearance agreements
Sale-related documents (e.g., bidding procedures, asset purchase agreements)
Plans of reorganization and related pleadings
Present motions and arguments in U.S. Bankruptcy Court or in insolvency-related hearings
Attend evidentiary hearings and support complex litigation efforts
Collaborate with a large national team of over 50 bankruptcy and business reorganization attorneys
Requirements
4–7 years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring law
Experience at an Am Law Top-100 firm preferred
Demonstrated success in litigation, legal writing, and oral advocacy
Significant exposure to Chapter 11 proceedings and corporate trust issues
Familiarity with distressed sectors (e.g., healthcare, education, manufacturing) is a plus
Strong interest in working with indenture trustees, collateral agents, and tax-advantaged investors
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications
Active membership in good standing with the Bar of a U.S. jurisdiction
Admission to the state Bar corresponding to the office location (Boston or New York) required upon hire
