A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling personal injury cases, mainly focusing on labor law construction cases. This role involves litigating cases from inception to resolution, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of personal injury cases, focusing on labor law construction cases.
• Litigate cases from inception to resolution, including court appearances and negotiations.
• Appear for depositions of our clients and conduct the depositions of defendants.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and prepare legal documents.
• Collaborate with legal professionals and clients to develop effective case strategies.
• Represent clients in court, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and communicate with opposing counsel.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Labor Law 240 and 241(6) and NYS Industrial Code.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with legal professionals.
• Proficient with OUTLOOK, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Westlaw, and NYSCEF e-filing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills

• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with legal research tools (Westlaw).
• Experience with e-filing systems (NYSCEF).
• Ability to use productivity software (OUTLOOK, Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
