A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Natural Resources Associate Attorney with 1–5 years of experience to join its California-based offices. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in state and federal natural resources law, with a focus on water rights, regulatory compliance, and environmental litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to work on complex matters involving CEQA, NEPA, infrastructure development, and public agency law within a collaborative and dynamic legal team.

Handle litigation and administrative proceedings related to water and natural resources law
Advise clients on regulatory compliance, water rights permitting, and strategic supply planning
Assist with complex groundwater adjudications and utility-related matters
Navigate and advise on CEQA and NEPA compliance requirements
Conduct due diligence for water rights transfers and infrastructure development projects
Manage matters involving federal, state, and local permitting processes
Work closely with public agencies on legal issues including Proposition 26 and Proposition 218
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and reports
Interact with clients, public officials, and agency representatives
1–5 years of experience in natural resources, environmental, or administrative law
Experience with CEQA, NEPA, water rights, or permitting processes preferred
Familiarity with public agency law, including Prop. 26 and Prop. 218, is beneficial
Ability to manage multiple matters with minimal supervision
Willingness to collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic performance required
Active member of the California State Bar (preferred) or eligible for admission
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective oral communication and public speaking skills
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
Detail-oriented and highly organized in managing case-related documentation
