A law firm seeks an experienced Appellate Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group in Westbury, NY. This role offers the opportunity to manage sophisticated, high-impact cases and shape appellate strategy for national financial institutions.

Duties

• Manage complex appellate and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft, edit, and finalize appellate briefs, motions, pleadings, and memoranda of law.
• Research, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and case law.
• Develop strategic legal arguments and provide insight and recommendations to clients and colleagues.
• Handle appellate calendars, manage critical deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
• Represent clients before New York trial and appellate courts in oral arguments, hearings, and related proceedings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistency in litigation strategy and client representation.
• Contribute to the firm's culture of continuous learning, mentorship, and professional growth.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York (in good standing).
• Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience, including appellate or motion practice.
• Demonstrated knowledge of civil and appellate procedure.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and strict deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
