UM Center for Children, Families, and Workforce Development
(Center) seeks a
Workforce Development Project Manager
to in training, research and innovation to bolster Montana’s human service, public health, education, and early childhood workforce.
Essential duties of the job in the following areas include:
Workforce Development Coordination.
Support the coordination of statewide training, including managing registrations, training materials and continuing education units. Prepare online learning module shells for upcoming programs, updates and maintains course content within the learning management system. Build required online course content in learning management system and updates as directed by the project lead. Support principal investigators and project leads to ensure lead times for course planning are followed, and proactively follows up with project leads to ensure course updates are implemented on schedule. Assist in ensuring content writers, evaluators, designers, and project leads submit content on time. Complete quality control checks of course material for consistent formatting, the accuracy of dates, links, and general grammar and spelling, identifying and logging findings with specific feedback to the project lead.
Research/Evaluation Support.
Assist principal investigators in developing research and evaluation methods, collecting research and evaluation data, co-developing reports and data visualization dashboards, and publishing them through the Center’s webpage. Translate research and evaluation findings into accessible formats to increase access and utility of results and findings to Montana leaders and contractors. Aid in self-assessment and evaluation of Center projects, including meeting deliverables in a timely fashion and meeting stated outcomes.
Project Management.
Project management including budget oversight, and communication with funders and sub-grantees. Collaborate with principal investigators in grant coordination including stakeholder outreach and engagement, management of grant deliverables, and assistance with grant accounting and grant reporting. Lead efforts for ongoing monitoring and quality improvement. Aid in self-assessment and evaluation of Center projects including meeting deliverables in a timely fashion and meeting stated outcomes. Create and manage web-site content and social media content. Develop ‘pipeline’ projects and new proposals

Job Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program
Salary for this position is $48,000-$52,000 per year commensurate with qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge
Tableau data visualization software, Qualtrics, RedCap, SPSS, SAS and similar research software
Learning management systems (Moodle, Canvas), and best practices in adult eLearning
Research and evaluation methods, data collection and analytical processes used in social science research
Understand the multiple systems and responsibilities of the systems that serve Montana’s children, youth, and families particularly those whose health is compromised by social conditions
Manage grant deliverables, monitor for ongoing quality improvement, and contribute to grant reports and financial monitoring
Extensive knowledge of the systems that provide mental health, social, educational and correctional services to Montana’s child, youth, and families
Skills
Experience designing and developing research studies to evaluate programs and feed results back into services
Assume leadership in conducting advanced literature reviews relevant to the social problems experienced by Montana’s children and families
Identify, aggregate, and analyze data obtained from research studies and public sources
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Excellent relational and communication skills
Proficiency in determining if documents, websites, and other media platforms meet accessibility standards
Abilities
Learn and apply new software programs to continually improve the quality of the Center’s research reports and data dashboards for policymakers and key leaders statewide
Respond to new needs, manage multiple projects, and prioritize deadlines to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality products
Lead and co-lead in identifying, developing, and implementing new projects that respond to the needs of social service professionals
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
At least one year of experience managing projects and/or assisting in conducting research and evaluation
Experience using local and statewide data to design and improve programs
