Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Associate with 1+ years of experience to join its Detroit, MI office. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in immigration law and experience in writing-intensive immigration cases. This full-time position offers the flexibility to work remotely two days per week.

Duties

• Lead writing-intensive matters, including RFE responses, NIWs, O-1/EB-1 petitions, and J-1 waiver applications.
• Prepare and submit filings to USCIS and other government agencies.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
• Complete and review forms, applications, and supporting documentation.
• Gather facts and evidence to support client applications and other immigration matters.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in immigration law.
• Active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction).
• Strong advocacy, research, and writing skills.
• High-level attention to detail and strong academic credentials.
• Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Enjoyment and proficiency in creative writing.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.
