Business Analyst, Project Management Office
Duties: Works in the Project Management Office (PMO) providing deliverables across all aspects of project planning and execution for a variety of strategic initiatives, including Legal Project Management (LPM). Will also be an integral part of the development, implementation, and delivery of Legal Project Management tools and processes. Reports directly to the Associate Director, Project Management and will have significant interactions with the financial systems reporting team, attorneys, and directors. Review and analyze complex data related to billing and fee arrangements, work activities, tasks, completion times, and other financial information. Identify matter cost and timeline drivers based on current and historical matters. Effectively communicate legal concepts and practices to Finance staff; effectively communicate business terms, analysis, and planning to partners and legal staff, assisting them in viewing their practice activities and results from a business / financial management perspective. Assist with development of LPM tools and processes, applying analysis and project management concepts to law practice in a way that improves operational efficiency, forecasting, and effectiveness. Develop and maintain a broad and deep knowledge of law firm business analysis, especially of billing, pricing and financial planning models. Review and analyze competitive rate and industry related data; present results and recommendations to firm leadership. Applies detailed classification knowledge in the continuous improvement of the factors that drive matter cost and timelines.
