A law firm seeks an associate attorney specializing in insurance coverage to join their Professional Liability Practice Group in Chicago, IL. The role involves handling both local and national litigation engagements, focusing on professional and general liability matters. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of relevant experience and a basic understanding of state and federal litigation.

Duties

• Assist with litigated general and professional liability coverage and bad faith matters in state and federal courts.
• Analyze coverage issues and draft coverage position correspondence.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Communicate with clients and prepare reports.
• Participate in status conferences, court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Contribute to case strategy and execution in complex litigation.

Requirements

• Active bar license in Illinois.
• Experience in insurance coverage for both litigated and non-litigated matters.
• Litigation experience in state or federal courts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong writing, organizational, and advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar license in Illinois.
