A law firm in Jeffersonville, IN, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in general civil litigation or litigation involving financial institutions. The ideal candidate will manage a portfolio of complex litigation cases, demonstrating expertise in all phases of litigation. This role requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, an active Indiana law license, and significant experience in case evaluation, discovery, and trial preparation. Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of complex litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Develop and execute case strategies, including case evaluation, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case development.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests with precision.
  • Collaborate with litigation support staff to prepare cases for trial.
  • Represent clients in court, including arguing motions and conducting direct and cross-examinations.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to keep them informed of legal developments and provide strategic advice.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and team members on complex legal issues.
  • Stay current with relevant legal developments and industry trends.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines to ensure timely and high-quality work product.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing license to practice law in Indiana.
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
  • Expertise in managing a portfolio of complex litigation cases.
  • Experience with all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to legal issues.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
