Job Overview

A law firm seeks a remote full-time attorney licensed in Illinois to manage debt settlement files and provide legal assistance to clients in debt collection lawsuits. This position is based in Southfield, MI, but allows for telecommuting from any location.

Duties

• Provide limited-scope assistance, including client consultations and settlement oversight.
• Review and approve pro se answer drafts prepared by paralegals.
• Offer formal representation for clients engaged in broader legal services.
• Attend hearings if necessary or coordinate with local coverage counsel.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Illinois Bar Association.
• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience in consumer debt defense and/or collections preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• License to practice law in the state of Illinois.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
