A law firm seeks a highly qualified Patent Litigation Associate to join its dynamic team in Washington, DC. The firm specializes in handling complex patent litigation, particularly for clients in the technology and life sciences sectors. Duties:

  • Represent clients in high-stakes patent litigation cases, primarily in the technology and life sciences industries.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for patent disputes.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on technical and scientific issues.
  • Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with team members to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials to advocate for clients.
  • Manage case files and ensure timely submission of court filings.
  • Engage in client meetings and maintain effective communication regarding case progress.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Prior experience handling intellectual property matters, particularly in technology or life sciences.
  • Law firm experience and a technical or science degree are preferred as well as an interest in cases relating to technology or life sciences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and litigation strategy development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to and in good standing with the bar of a relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to handle complex technical and legal issues.
  • Proficiency in drafting high-quality legal documents, including motions and briefs.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with litigation tools, platforms, and patent-specific legal procedures.
