A well-regarded law firm located in Beverly Hills, CA is seeking a dedicated and analytical Intake Attorney with a passion for employment law. This role centers on evaluating potential legal claims from individuals facing workplace issues such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage violations. Serving as the first point of legal contact, the Intake Attorney plays a crucial role in assessing claim viability, guiding clients, and shaping the direction of potential litigation. Ideal candidates will possess strong legal judgment, excellent client-facing skills, and a thorough understanding of both federal and state employment regulations.
Conduct comprehensive intake consultations to assess workplace legal disputes
Evaluate cases involving wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage/hour violations
Apply a knowledge of understanding of federal and California-specific labor laws to determine case viability
Prepare detailed internal reports outlining legal issues, relevant facts, and potential claims
Explain legal rights and options to prospective clients in an empathetic and professional manner
Work closely with legal support staff to maintain smooth intake operations
Manage a high volume of inquiries with attention to detail and consistency
Identify and redirect matters outside the firm’s focus when necessary
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution
Active licensure to practice law in California
1-3 years of experience in employment law or plaintiff-side litigation (preferred)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to spot legal issues quickly and accurately
Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in explaining legal matters to non-lawyers
Comfortable managing multiple inquiries and cases in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with legal intake software and case tracking systems (preferred)
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
An active member of the California State Bar
In-depth knowledge of employment law statutes such as Title VII, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and California-specific labor codes
Empathetic client engagement and interviewing techniques
Excellent legal writing and documentation abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and support staff
Competency with legal technology tools and case management platforms
