Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Fresno, CA, is seeking a seasoned immigration attorney to take on a leadership role within its established immigration practice. The position offers substantial client engagement, autonomy in managing a diverse caseload, and collaboration with an experienced team of legal professionals. This role is well-suited for an attorney with significant experience in removal defense, family-based immigration, and other key areas of U.S. immigration law who thrives in a dynamic legal environment and values long-term professional development.

Duties:

• Provide strategic legal advice on complex immigration matters to clients from a variety of backgrounds

• Handle representation of clients in both detained and non-detained settings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Conduct client consultations and formulate legal strategies for various case types

• Prepare and submit family-based immigration petitions and removal defense applications

• Draft and revise supporting legal documents, including briefs, affidavits, and forms

• Conduct legal intake for individuals in detention facilities and maintain ongoing case oversight

• Collaborate with legal assistants and fellow attorneys to streamline case processing and compliance

• Engage with external stakeholders, including community-based organizations and local agencies, on immigration law updates

• Guide clients and witnesses through the preparation and presentation stages of immigration hearings and USCIS interviews

• Monitor immigration law developments and adjust client strategies accordingly

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of dedicated experience practicing U.S. immigration law

• Demonstrated experience handling detained and non-detained cases, EOIR proceedings, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief applications, and citizenship matters

• Strong organizational and case management skills with the ability to oversee a high-volume caseload

• Ability to collaborate in a team-driven environment while maintaining independent responsibilities

• Spanish fluency strongly preferred

• Familiarity with immigration case management software is advantageous

• High-level written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and legal drafting

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Certifications:

• Good standing with the relevant State Bar
