Job Title: Immigration Intake Attorney

A respected law firm located in Fresno, CA is seeking an experienced Immigration Intake Attorney to lead its client intake operations. This role serves as the initial point of contact for prospective clients and plays a pivotal role in evaluating case viability, recommending legal strategies, and overseeing the intake team. This position requires a deep understanding of immigration law and strong leadership and communication abilities. Duties:

• Conduct strategic consultations with potential immigration clients

• Recommend appropriate legal strategies based on individual case assessments

• Oversee and manage intake personnel, including intake paralegals and contract preparers

• Ensure scopes and retainers are properly completed and intake forms are accurate

• Collaborate with the Intake Committee by delivering relevant case insights

• Review and assign new case intake files

• Assist in hiring and onboarding of intake team members

• Clearly explain immigration processes and options to prospective clients and internal staff

• Guide applications such as family-based petitions and removal defense

• Occasionally review prepared application packets and suggest necessary edits

• Occasionally assist in developing litigation strategies and preparing clients for testimony

• Research legal precedents and analyze client eligibility and benefits

• Contribute to the drafting of briefs and supporting documents for varied immigration matters

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Fluency in both English and Spanish

• Proven leadership or supervisory capabilities

• Previous involvement in sales or client acquisition is advantageous

• Demonstrated ability to manage legal caseloads efficiently

• Comfortable working in high-volume, client-facing environments

• Familiarity with client relationship management tools or legal intake software

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Active and good standing with a State Bar

Certifications:

• State Bar admission (any U.S. jurisdiction) required
