A prominent law firm is seeking a Transactional Associate Attorney with a minimum of four years of experience in oil and gas or traditional energy sectors. This is a full-time, partnership-track role based in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a background in handling a variety of transactional matters, particularly in upstream and midstream oil and gas operations. Location:

Duties:
Advise clients on transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including:
Development and operating agreements
Gathering, transportation, and processing agreements
Supply and offtake contracts
Provide counsel on agreements related to carbon capture and energy transition initiatives
Collaborate with partners and cross-functional teams to close complex energy-related deals
Manage due diligence, transaction documentation, and risk assessment processes
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of legal experience in oil and gas or traditional energy transactions
Proficiency in drafting and negotiating key industry agreements
Experience in both upstream and midstream energy sectors preferred
Interest or experience in energy transition (e.g., carbon capture) a plus
Must be eligible for admission to the Texas Bar, with active membership required within one year
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Member of the Texas Bar (preferred; required within one year of hire)
Skills:
Deep understanding of energy industry operations and regulatory framework
Strong negotiation and drafting abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple high-stakes transactions concurrently
