Auto Defense Attorney - General Liability

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Auto Defense Attorney specializing in General Liability to join its Miami, FL office. This role focuses on defending a variety of liability claims, including auto negligence, construction defect, medical malpractice, and premises liability. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of experience and a commitment to effectively representing clients throughout the litigation process, from initial case handling to trial and appeal.

Duties

• Review and analyze medical records to develop effective case strategies
• Draft and file motions, including motions for summary judgment
• Prepare and attend court hearings to advocate on behalf of clients
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
• Create comprehensive reports, including initial, interim, pre-trial, and appellate activity reports
• Respond to and draft discovery requests, and handle related motions
• Regularly attend court appearances to ensure optimal outcomes for clients
• Participate in mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings as required

Requirements

• Experience: 5-10 years in General Liability defense, including auto negligence and premises liability
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent research, written, and oral communication skills
• Responsibilities: Comfortable with attending court appearances, taking and defending depositions, and managing discovery

Education

• Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida

Skills

• Proficiency in drafting motions, managing complex discovery, and performing legal research
• Ability to analyze and synthesize medical records and other complex case documentation
• Strong courtroom presence with the capability to advocate confidently and effectively for clients
