Job Title: Junior Structured Finance Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A San Diego-based law firm seeks a junior-level associate attorney to join its structured finance and derivatives group. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated financial products and legal agreements across a range of capital markets transactions. Ideal candidates bring strong experience with ISDA documentation, financial regulatory frameworks, and transactional support in structured finance matters. Duties:
Draft and negotiate complex agreements under the ISDA Master Agreement, including Schedules, Credit Support Annexes, and Confirmations
Advise clients on regulatory frameworks such as Dodd-Frank and ISDA protocols related to over-the-counter derivatives
Assist in the structuring and execution of finance transactions, with a focus on securitization and structured products
Conduct legal research and analysis related to derivatives regulation and market practices
Interface with institutional clients, internal teams, and counterparties to ensure contract compliance and risk mitigation
Prepare transaction documents and contribute to due diligence efforts in capital markets matters
Maintain awareness of emerging trends in derivatives law and structured financial instruments
Support the team on broader financing transactions as needed
Requirements:
3-5 years of focused legal experience in derivatives and structured finance
Strong familiarity with ISDA documentation and regulatory protocols
Prior experience at a major law firm or recognized financial institution is preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume transactional work with accuracy and timeliness
High level of professionalism and discretion in client interactions
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; ability to practice law in California preferred
