Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking an experienced General Counsel & Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to manage internal legal matters and handle high-stakes commercial litigation cases. This individual will be responsible for addressing both firm-level legal needs and representing clients in complex business disputes.

Duties:

General Counsel Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice to the executive team on internal legal matters, including compliance, employment issues, contracts, risk management, and dispute resolution.

• Draft, revise, and negotiate firm agreements, such as vendor contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, and leases.

• Oversee and manage legal claims or inquiries involving the firm.

• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies across various departments.

Commercial Litigation Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in business litigation, including:

  • Partnership and shareholder disputes

  • Breach of contract issues

  • Enforcement of non-compete, non-disclosure, and non-solicitation agreements

  • Employment defense litigation (wrongful termination, wage disputes)

  • Business torts and unfair competition

• Manage a caseload from intake to trial, handling pleadings, discovery, motion practices, hearings, and depositions.

• Collaborate closely with clients to develop litigation strategies and ensure the highest level of representation.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

• Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing.

• 4+ years of experience in practicing law, with a strong focus on commercial/business litigation.

• Expertise in Florida employment law and corporate legal matters.

• Experience as in-house counsel or handling similar responsibilities is preferred.

• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.

• Strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Florida Bar membership (in good standing).

Skills:

• Strong commercial litigation and general counsel experience.

• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and agreements.

• Expertise in risk management and dispute resolution.

• Excellent interpersonal communication and client management skills.
