Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Associate with at least six years of experience in general commercial and appellate litigation to join its Miami office. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with experienced trial attorneys in a dynamic and collegial environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, including appeals, and contribute to both strategic litigation efforts and business development.

Duties

• Manage and oversee complex commercial litigation matters at all stages

• Handle discovery (including e-discovery), depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Draft and argue motions and participate in hearings in both state and federal courts

• Participate in appellate matters, including brief drafting and oral arguments

• Maintain direct client communication and provide strategic legal guidance

• Collaborate with colleagues and oversee the work of junior associates and legal support staff

• Contribute to business development initiatives through client engagement and firm activities

• Ensure timely and accurate billing in line with firm requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience in a mid- to large-sized law firm

• Substantial courtroom experience including depositions, hearings, and appeals

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex litigation matters

• Proven ability to supervise junior associates or legal support professionals

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida and in good standing

• Must meet all CLE and license renewal requirements

Skills

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presentation abilities

• Proficient in both traditional and electronic discovery

• Strong leadership and project management capabilities

• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment

• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is a plus
