Job Title: Intellectual Property Associate Attorney- Technical/ Engineering Focus

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Boston, MA is seeking a litigation attorney with 2-4 years of focused experience in intellectual property disputes, especially those involving patents or trade secrets. This position is designed for attorneys with a strong technical foundation who are looking to contribute to a highly specialized and collaborative team known for handling complex IP litigation.

Duties:

• Represent clients in patent and trade secret litigation across federal courts and before administrative bodies.

• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and discovery documents with minimal supervision.

• Conduct legal research, develop case strategies, and support trial preparation.

• Collaborate with technical experts and in-house counsel to develop and present technically complex cases.

• Participate in inter-part review proceedings before the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Engage in client communications, case management, and team mentoring where appropriate.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of substantive experience in intellectual property litigation.

• Prior involvement in patent or trade secret cases is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently while contributing to team-based outcomes.

• Admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar or eligible for admission.

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Undergraduate or advanced degree preferred in one of the following disciplines (or closely related fields):

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Computer Science

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Biochemistry

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Massachusetts State Bar.

• USPTO registration is a plus but not required.
