A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate with a minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial and general liability litigation to join its Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney interested in handling a broad range of defense cases, including mass torts, class actions, and professional liability defense, particularly in industries such as skilled care facilities, hospitality, architecture, engineering, and sports.

Duties:

• Defend clients in complex commercial and general liability litigation matters.
• Handle cases involving professional liability, particularly in sectors like skilled care facilities, hotels, motels, architects, engineers, and sports organizations.
• Participate in mass tort and class action defense strategies.
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring all filings comply with local rules.
• Engage directly with clients, providing strategic advice and litigation support throughout the case lifecycle.
• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials, taking on increasing responsibility as you grow within the firm.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues on case strategy and legal research.
• Mentor junior associates and support their professional development.
• Actively contribute to a team-focused environment by participating in firm-wide initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in commercial and general liability litigation.
• Experience in mass torts, class actions, and professional liability defense is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with representing clients in industries such as skilled care, hospitality, professional services, and sports is a plus.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and manage cases effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume practice.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and in good standing.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar.
