Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a skilled and passionate Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney to join their dynamic General Liability Practice Group. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced attorneys with a focus on Medical Malpractice and Assisted Living/Long Term Care defense. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience and will play a key role in defending a diverse range of clients, navigating complex legal matters, and achieving favorable outcomes through strategic case management.

Duties:

  • Review and analyze medical records to build strong advocacy for clients.
  • Draft and argue motions while representing clients in court hearings.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend as necessary.
  • Draft detailed reports for initial, interim, and pre-trial stages, trials, and appellate procedures.
  • Respond to discovery requests and draft relevant discovery motions.
  • Represent clients in regular court appearances and ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Take and defend depositions, including facts and expert witnesses.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for navigating complex legal issues.
  • Excellent research, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in drafting and responding to discovery motions.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle court appearances regularly.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Ability to draft motions for summary judgment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice in the State of Florida.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in case preparation and client representation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, including motions and reports.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple cases.
