A law firm seeks a highly motivated Family Law Associate Attorney in Rockville, MD. This role offers the chance to join a dynamic practice and quickly assume substantial responsibility, including court appearances. The position is based in our Rockville office and requires a Maryland Bar license, with DC and VA Bars being a plus.

Duties

• Represent clients in divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division cases.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and discovery demands.
• Conduct discovery and depositions.
• Organize and maintain case files and documents.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
• Schedule appointments and manage own calendar.
• Represent clients at court hearings and mediations.
• Negotiate and settle cases.

Requirements

• Doctor of Jurisprudence.
• Ability to bill 1800 hours annually.
• Prior family law attorney experience required.
• Strong knowledge of family law procedures and regulations.
• Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education

• Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Certifications

• License to practice law in Maryland (required).
