Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate to join its Chicago office. The role involves defending employers in complex litigation and agency matters, offering legal counsel on labor and employment laws, and contributing to a nationally ranked employment law practice. This search is being conducted on behalf of the firm by a professional legal recruiting agency.

Location:

• Chicago, IL

Duties:

• Defend employers in lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims

• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and before administrative agencies (state and federal)

• Handle matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employment contracts, torts, non-competes, and class/collective actions

• Participate in mediations and provide strategic litigation counsel

• Advise employers on labor and employment law compliance and risk mitigation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience; employment law background strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of state and federal court procedures, as well as employment-related administrative agencies

• Excellent legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• High professional standards and collaborative work style

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

• Demonstrated record of strong academic performance

Certifications:

• Active Illinois Bar admission or ability to obtain admission promptly

Skills:

• Effective oral and written communication

• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Professionalism, collegiality, and sound judgment
