Job Overview
A distinguished boutique law firm is seeking a driven Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage practice group. This opportunity is ideal for a litigator with 2–5 years of experience interested in developing or expanding a career in insurance law. The role offers meaningful client interaction, mentorship, and the chance to work on high-stakes matters involving complex coverage issues. Candidates will work closely with partners and receive training and support in a collegial, collaborative environment.

Duties

• Analyze insurance policies and draft comprehensive coverage opinions

• Represent insurer clients in litigation, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and hearings

• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence

• Advise clients on strategic and practical considerations in coverage matters

• Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and business development initiatives

• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm in a team-oriented setting

Requirements

• 2–5 years of litigation experience (prior insurance coverage experience preferred but not required)

• Active license and good standing with the Maryland Bar (additional bar admissions are a plus)

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Demonstrated interest in insurance law and client advisory work

• Strong organizational and time management skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Admission to the Maryland State Bar (mandatory)

• Additional bar memberships considered an asset
