Senior Corporate Counsel - Marketing and Digital

The candidate will provide legal review and advice to all levels of the company, including executive management, regarding the Company’s marketing/advertising creative strategies and campaigns, including via digital social media and internet, direct marketing, television, radio, out of home, endorsements, promotions, and public relations materials. Research, analyze and provide practical advice to business units on legal and compliance matters related to direct marketing programs and marketing privacy laws, including those regulating telemarketing, text messaging, and email marketing. Research, analyze and provide practical advice to business units on legal and compliance matters related to all aspects of e-commerce and digital transactions, including online terms and notifications (e.g., privacy notices), consumer choice consents/opt-outs, identity verification and authentication, e-signatures, and arbitration. Draft, negotiate and provide legal and business advice regarding complex commercial agreements involving sophisticated counterparties and external service providers, including software licenses, professional services, sponsorships, marketing, technology, privacy, cybersecurity, facility/building leases, and other strategic sourcing agreements. Work closely with the Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel to provide legal support on a variety of strategic business initiatives. Respond to regulatory and other inquires, complaints and disputes. Monitor evolving laws that may impact the Company’s digital business and its products and services and assist with operationalizing compliant solutions. Coordinate efforts with internal clients as well as other internal and external attorneys, to provide legal advice regarding sophisticated matters that may impact the Company’s operations and strategic initiatives on a broad range of topics. Manage outside counsel to achieve timely and desired results within budget. Periodically assist with diverse high-demand legal projects outside the normal area of focus. Some domestic or international travel may be required.
