Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Patent Attorney in Westwood, MA, to join their dynamic patent strategy and prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications and managing large, inter-related patent portfolios. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong team spirit and a keen interest in learning new and complex technologies.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute a high volume of patent applications.
• Manage multiple active patent portfolios domestically and internationally.
• Represent start-up and established companies in patent matters.
• Prepare design guidance, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions.
• Collaborate with foreign counsel on international patent applications.
• Engage directly with clients and business teams.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution.
• Background in AI, machine learning, software, or related fields.
• Experience as a USPTO Examiner is advantageous.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Experience working remotely with occasional travel.

Education

• Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, AI, or data science.
• Advanced degree in the above areas is a plus.

Certifications

• USPTO Registration.
