Litigation Associate

The candidate will be self-directed case management from inception to resolution (under shareholder). Prepare for, conduct and attend hearings, depositions, and draft pleadings, discovery and motions as well as mediations and trials/arbitrations. Review documents with superior attention to detail. Conduct legal research regarding complex procedural and substantive issues. Interface with clients and opposing counsel in a professional manner. Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities. Bill a minimum of 2050 hours per year. Work within a team and support peer associates and multiple shareholders within the Litigation Department. Should have strong academic and employment credentials. Licensed in Texas and the S. District of Texas; additional admissions in other federal district courts are preferred. Should have at least 3-5 year’s of private law firm litigation experience. Should have experience in the following: complex tort, commercial litigation and insurance coverage/bad faith litigation. Excellent writing and speaking skills are desired.
