Job Overview:

A well-established law firm based in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Attorney to join their litigation team. The firm specializes in civil litigation across a variety of practice areas, including premises liability, employment law, automobile accidents, fraud, coverage, and construction defect matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with clients, manage cases from inception to trial, and develop their skills in all aspects of the litigation process.

Duties:

• Represent clients in litigation matters, including case preparation, discovery, and trial proceedings.
• Develop legal strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients.
• Manage case files, ensuring deadlines are met and all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and contribute to the overall success of the firm.
• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Virginia; Washington, D.C. licensure is a plus.
• Experience in civil litigation or a similar legal field.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Virginia (required).
• Membership in the Washington, D.C. Bar (preferred).
