Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate to join its Finance & Transactions team in New York, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with shareholders and engage in business development and client-facing activities within a collaborative and multidisciplinary practice.

Duties

• Lead drafting and negotiation of core transaction documents.
• Manage all phases of the deal lifecycle from term sheet to post-closing integration.
• Provide general counsel to portfolio companies and clients across various industries.
• Handle multiple matters simultaneously.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of transactional/M&A experience at a law firm.
• Experience with private equity/sponsor clients on acquisitions and growth equity/VC sides.
• Familiarity with equity owner agreements and general commercial agreements.
• Admitted in, or taking steps to become admitted in, New York.

Education

• J.D. degree with strong academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York or eligible for admission.

Skills

• Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
