STAFF ATTORNEY
The candidate's duties include: Develop and implement legal and advocacy strategies to promote immigrant and worker rights. Support organizing efforts of low-income immigrant communities; Litigate immigrant and worker right cases in Federal and State Courts; Provide technical support to community groups, advocates and organizers; Support local and statewide coalition building; Conduct outreach and advocacy with public officials; Run trainings and provide Know-Your-Rights workshops for advocates, organizers and directly impacted individuals; Provide direct representation to individuals in immigration proceedings before immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals and USCIS; Provide direct representation to workers before the State Division of Labor Standards Enforcement; Should have a Juris Doctor degree; Demonstrated commitment to advancing the rights of low-income workers, people of color, and/or immigrant communities; Should have excellent research, analytical, written and oral communication skills; Should have membership in good standing with a State Bar and fluency in English and Spanish.
