A nationally respected, minority-owned law firm is seeking a Corporate & Transactional Attorney to join its growing legal team. This full-time position is available in West Des Moines, Iowa, and offers hybrid work flexibility. The role involves handling a broad range of commercial transactions, with an emphasis on contract negotiation, real estate, technology, and business law. The ideal candidate is client-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of legal excellence in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including purchase agreements, service contracts, letters of intent, and ancillary documents

• Handle technology-related contracts, including SaaS and software licensing agreements (both inbound and outbound)

• Oversee commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing

• Assist with commercial lending transactions, including syndicated credit agreements and bilateral loan documents (preferred but not required)

• Advise on corporate governance and compliance matters as needed

• Ensure timely completion of legal tasks and meet internal/client deadlines

• Supervise paralegals and legal assistants, and collaborate across legal teams and practice groups

• Support clients ranging from Fortune 100/500 corporations to public agencies and small businesses

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate and general commercial transactional law

• Previous experience with commercial real estate, technology contracts, or business structuring

• Ability to manage a high volume of legal matters independently and efficiently

• Strong project management and delegation skills

• Willingness to meet or exceed billable hours and revenue expectations

• Reliable and consistent attendance

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Iowa or Wisconsin (required)

• Additional licensure in Illinois and/or Indiana is a plus
