Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Columbus, OH, is actively seeking a Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in complex litigation. This role is ideal for a motivated legal professional looking to grow within a collaborative team environment that handles a diverse docket of business-related disputes. The selected candidate will engage in substantive legal work across all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and dispute resolution.

Duties:

• Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests

• Conduct and participate in depositions

• Prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs with minimal supervision

• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings

• Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings

• Manage case files and maintain regular client communications

• Collaborate with internal teams to formulate litigation strategies

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of experience practicing litigation, preferably involving business disputes

• Familiarity with procedural and substantive issues in federal and state courts

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through to completion

• Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Ohio Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active admission to the Ohio State Bar (or eligibility for reciprocity)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical writing abilities

• Effective oral advocacy and interpersonal communication

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a litigation team
