Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 7 years of experience to join its Medical Malpractice and Senior Care defense team in its Long Island office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing nursing home or healthcare-related litigation and be capable of independently handling a caseload from inception through trial. Location:

Duties:
Manage a full caseload of senior care and medical malpractice defense matters
Conduct and defend depositions of parties and non-parties
Coordinate and communicate with client facilities and staff
Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial
Review and analyze medical records and expert reports
Meet and consult with expert witnesses
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda
Handle court appearances, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
Maintain detailed case documentation and deadlines
Requirements:
Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in medical malpractice or nursing home defense
Demonstrated ability to handle litigation matters independently
Experience with depositions, motion practice, and case management
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Reliable, responsive, and capable of managing client relationships
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admitted to practice and in good standing in the State of New York
Skills:
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing capabilities
Excellent oral communication and client service skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment
Proficiency in litigation strategy and medical record analysis
