Title IX Coordinator/Section 504 Coordinator and Compliance Officer
The candidate will maintain awareness of current and future federal and state regulations and compliance standards related to accessibility and civil rights. Provide training or updates to leaders, collaborative partners and key constituents. Establish open channels of communication and effective partnerships with offices involved in direct service to employees and students, including, for example, the Office of Academic Access and Disability Services, the student Center for Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources, and Campus Police & Public Safety. Oversee processes for receiving and resolving complaints of sexual and interpersonal violence. Effectively manage cases in compliance with Title IX and Clery requirements. Collaborate effectively with Dean of Students Office on Student Handbook policies and Title IX processes, and with Human Resources on Employee Guide policies and processes. Advise Title IX complainants, respondents, support people and/or other third parties about reporting options, institutional resources, interim measures, and supports available at the College and in the community. Recruit, train and oversee a team of trained Title IX investigators. Oversee external investigators as appropriate. Assign student sexual misconduct cases to investigators and ensure all investigations are conducted in compliance with best practices. Provide assistance and support to college programs responsible for responding to complaints of sexual and interpersonal violence. Train College employees to respond appropriately to reported incidents of sexual or interpersonal violence. Convene deputy Title IX coordinators for regular meetings. Prepare statistical reports and provide accurate information on complaints of sexual and interpersonal violence for the college’s Annual Security Report. Provide information and assistance to those who wish to raise a complaint or have concerns relating to the college’s compliance with the ADA and/or related local, state, and federal laws. Facilitate the college’s compliance with disability laws and regulations, including responding promptly and effectively to each complaint. Provide assistance and support to college programs responsible for delivering reasonable accommodations to, students, and members of the public, including assistance and support on universal design and other specific inclusion initiatives, upon request. Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred. Must demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state laws and regulations. Should have 5+ years of professional experience in a related field with 2+ years' recent experience conducting employment or education/student discrimination, harassment, and retaliation investigations or related litigation. Previous work experience in higher education is required. J.D. or Master’s Degree in related field is preferred.
