Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Vendor Management Counsel in San Diego, CA. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement. The successful candidate will join a dynamic internal legal team, managing vendor relationships and supporting various business functions.

Duties

  • Serve as primary lawyer for vendor and supplier contracts across all business functions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
  • Lead contracting for technology and AI-related engagements.
  • Coordinate with attorneys specializing in privacy and data security.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify legal risks.
  • Support and maintain standard contract templates and playbooks.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise the General Counsel.
  • Work closely with contract administrator to manage contract portfolio.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and business-partnering skills.
  • Familiarity with generative AI contracting concepts.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of matters with competing deadlines.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with AI contracting concepts.
  • Business-oriented mindset.
