An established law firm is seeking an experienced Trial Attorney to join its North Charleston, SC office. This position is ideal for a senior attorney with a successful track record in representing clients, who is also interested in mentoring the next generation of legal professionals. The candidate should be adept at handling a large caseload and familiar with all aspects of the trial process.

Location

Duties

• Represent clients in court and argue motions during legal proceedings.
• Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Prepare for and attend trials, mediation sessions, and arbitration hearings.
• Stay updated on applicable laws and statutes at local, state, and federal levels.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations.
• Trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience.
• Ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree and a law degree from an accredited law school (LLM, JSD, or J.D. degree).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior associate attorney.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Laws (LLM), or Doctor of Juridical Science (JSD).

Certifications

• Valid Bar license in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia (required).

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience in drafting legal documents and preparing for trial.
