This role involves leading litigation strategy and overseeing all phases of the legal process through appeal.

Duties

• Provide strategic direction on litigation and appellate matters.
• Serve as lead appellate counsel in federal and state courts.
• Manage all stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and appeals.
• Draft and argue complex motions at trial and appellate levels.
• Appear in court for hearings, trials, and appellate arguments.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
• Review and manage case files for timely progress and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Alabama.
• Minimum 10 years of litigation and appellate experience.
• Experience in employment discrimination and civil rights.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple matters simultaneously.
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Alabama
