A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join its mass torts practice in Edwardsville, Illinois. Duties:

• Evaluate potential mass tort cases to assess their viability and potential for success.
• Investigate claims by gathering medical records, expert opinions, documents, and witness statements.
• Conduct interviews and consultations with prospective clients to determine the merits of their claims.
• Explain the legal process to clients and provide clarity on potential case outcomes.
• Conduct thorough legal research to stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents in mass tort cases.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies for each case.
• Draft and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, and responses in appropriate courts.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Manage large inventories of claimants to ensure deadlines are met for statutes of limitations, discovery, and other case milestones.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois and/or Missouri (required).
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mass torts litigation or related practice areas, with courtroom and trial experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Effective negotiation and advocacy abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in mass tort litigation.
• Fluency in Spanish (preferred but not required).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois and/or Missouri (required).

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work under deadlines.
