Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Public Finance Career Associate Attorney with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience to join its team. This non-partner track position offers a rewarding opportunity to engage in cutting-edge legal work across the full range of public finance matters. Projects span across sectors including infrastructure, nonprofit facilities, tribal finance, housing, energy, and more.
Location:

Duties:
Assist in the execution of tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond transactions
Advise government agencies, 501(c)(3) organizations, and private-sector clients on financing structures
Work on a variety of public finance matters, including:
Infrastructure and capital improvements
Healthcare and education facilities
Low-income and multifamily housing
Energy, water, and wastewater projects
Indian Tribal financings
Public-private partnerships
Contribute to legal issues related to IRS audits, SEC enforcement, securitizations, and bankruptcies
Draft legal documents, conduct diligence, and manage aspects of deal execution
Collaborate with experienced attorneys and clients across jurisdictions
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience in public finance, securities, or transactional law
Desire to work in a Career Associate (non-partner track) capacity
Strong work ethic with the ability to manage competing deadlines
Willingness to learn through on-the-job training and mentoring
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Admission to the bar in West Virginia or other office of residence, or eligibility to waive in
Skills:
Excellent writing, drafting, and communication skills
High attention to detail and organizational ability
Strong analytical and research proficiency
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Interest in public service, infrastructure, or nonprofit sector legal work
