Mid-level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Patent Prosecution Attorney to join its expanding Intellectual Property Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience handling patent prosecution, including patent search, analysis, drafting and filing applications, and portfolio management. Experience in mechanical, biomedical, and medical devices is preferred, while litigation experience is an added bonus, but not required.

Location:

• Greensboro, NC

Duties:

• Manage and prosecute patent applications across various industries
• Conduct patent searches and provide detailed analysis
• Draft and file patent applications with the USPTO
• Provide portfolio management and intellectual property counseling
• Collaborate with clients to assess and protect their intellectual property
• Optional involvement in IP litigation

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
• In-depth understanding of patent law and prosecution procedures
• Experience with mechanical, biomedical, or medical devices (preferred)
• Litigation experience (preferred, but not required)
• Strong client communication and relationship management skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biomedical science, or a related technical field (preferred)

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar
• USPTO registration (required)
