Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Minnesota-licensed associate attorney to handle family law matters in Minneapolis, MN. This fully remote role requires in-person attendance for court appearances, mediations, and occasional client meetings. The attorney will manage their own cases with support from experienced paralegals and dedicated staff.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of Minnesota family law matters from start to resolution.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, and hearings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and settlement documents.
• Advise clients on legal strategy and next steps.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal staff to move cases forward.
• Track deadlines and case tasks using firm systems.

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the Minnesota Bar.
• 4+ years of Minnesota family law experience.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently.
• Comfortable using legal technology, including Clio, MS Office, and other business software.
• Collaborative, professional, and client-focused.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Minnesota.
