Duties

• Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases from inception through trial and appeal.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client defense.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents including motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
• Manage all aspects of case preparation, including depositions, expert witness coordination, and case strategy development.
• Attend court hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice.
• Stay current with developments in medical malpractice law and related legal fields.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, or recent successful completion of the Virginia Bar Examination with pending admission.
• Litigation experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in medical malpractice, health care law, insurance defense, professional liability, or civil litigation is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience reviewing medical records and working with medical experts is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications
